The Gauntlet is an AnimeFest tradition and one of our main events. It is a competition that consists of 4 challenges:

 

The First Round: The Human Knot

Everyone is split into 3 big groups. Each person stands in a circle with their group facing outwards, crosses their arms, and holds the hands of the people next to them. First group to unwind their knot and stand facing inwards with their arms uncrossed -without letting go of their hands- wins the points!

 

The Second Round: Anime Charades

The groups are further split and given a list of topics to pantomime. Half the group acts and the other half guesses. Rack up points by guessing as many topics as you can within the time limit.

 

The Third Round: Onigiri-Eating Contest

Eat two onigiri to get points. Be among the first to finish your onigiri for bonus points. Here's the catch: you don't know what's inside of them. (Allergy warnings will be given prior to this portion).

 

The Final Round: Ramune-Drinking Contest

Wash down that onigiri by opening and chugging down a bottle of Ramune as fast as you can!

 

Prizes will be awarded the people with the most amount of points in the end.
