REGISTRATION

Q. How much is admission?

      Admission is free this year!

 

Q. Sweet! How can I register?

      All registration will be done on-site, in the Price Center East Ballroom. There will be a registration desk near the 

      entrance, where you will receive a stamp and brochure that will allow for re-entry during the span of the 

      convention. Non-registered attendees cannot participate in any of the events (gaming, panels, showings, etc.)

      we have planned. 

 

Q. I'm not a student at UCSD. Can I still attend?  

      Of course! We welcome students, alumni, and any other fellow enthusiasts to our convention.

 

 

POLICIES

Q. Can I take pictures of other attendees and/or exhibits?

      Photos and videos will be allowed during the concert and dance performances. With the exception of our official      

      historian, Edward Shieh, we urge you to request permission before you take photos of any other events, especially

      of cosplayers, panelists, and Artist Alley participants.

 

Q. Are there any cosplay restrictions?

      All cosplays must adhere to the following rules:

-- Cosplays must be appropriate and respectful.

-- Cosplays should not expose the body in such a way to be considered indecent exposure under California and

    San Diego ordinances.

-- Costumes that are realistic depictions of American Law Enforcement, American Military, or other emergency

    response personnel's uniforms are NOT permitted. 

 

Q. What are the weapons policies?

      All weapons must adhere to the following policies:

-- Weapons considered illegal on UCSD grounds, San Diego, California, and the United States are NOT allowed.

-- Real weapons, projectile weapons (guns, bows, etc), baseball bats, weapons with live steel, and any other

    weapons that may pose a danger to attendees are NOT allowed.

-- Prop weapons MUST be peace bonded by registration staff at the registration table. Staff will only peace bond    

    weapons that relate to and enhance the cosplay that it's for.

-- Prop weapons must  must be inoperable.

-- All attendees with peace bonded weapons must adhere to strict behavioral standards. Weapons should not be

   brandished in any threatening manner or used in any way that could pose a threat to others. Weapons must  

   also remain with the attendee who originally had it peace bonded.

 

 

 

GENERAL

Q. Can I re-enter the convention after I've left?

      Yes, attendees may come and go as they please after they have registered.

 

Q. I need to find a staff member during the convention. Who can I talk to?

      All Cal Animage Beta officers/staff members will be wearing some sort of identifying symbol (TBD).

 

Q. Will there be free food?

      Only drinks will be provided. Feel free to join Gauntlet and get free food in the form of onigiri and ramune!

 

 

MISC

Q. What is Cal Animage Beta?

      Cal Animage Beta is UCSD's one-and-only anime club. In addition to AnimeFest, we have weekly GBMs (held        

      Monday evenings) where we show various anime. We also host various other quarterly and yearly events such

      as karaoke, Tea Party (where we marathon an entire anime series), and Beach Day.
