UC San Diego's Anime Convention
About AnimeFest
AnimeFest is UC San Diego's annual
student-run anime convention.
Members of Cal Animage Beta, UCSD's
anime club, work together to host a day
full of fun and games.
AnimeFest will be held Sunday,
May 10, 2015 from 11am to 9pm.
Main programming will be in the Price
Center East Ballroom, with panels and
showings held in various smaller rooms
nearby.
There will be an assortment of panels
hosted by students. This year, we will have special guest panelist, Tara Knight, a UCSD professor and director of Mikumentary, discussing her work done on the Vocaloid, Hatsune Miku. We will have three console gaming centers set up, one of which will run a video game tournament. Artist Alley will be making its second appearance, and for the first time ever, we will have a concert and a dance performance put on by student groups!
Check out our Events page for a complete listing of everything in store, including our UCSD-exclusive Gauntlet! The Gauntlet is a series of challenges, including a ramune-drinking and an onigiri-eating contest, with prizes for the final winners. This the most popular activity at AnimeFest.
Get ready for a jam-packed day of anime-themed fun! We hope to see you there!
